George Papadapolis, a blury former pro football player
turned sportscaster met Katherine Calder-Young, a
fluttery socialite with a career as a consumer advocate
on a Greek cruise and impulsively got married. Two
weeks later Alex's best friends, Travis and Gert Long,
are killed in an automobile accident. He had once
promised that if anything ever happened to them, he'd
raise their son. So, into the lives of George and
Katherine comes Webster, age 7, 40 inches tall, and
cute as a button. There were problems. Katherine for
instance, was not only a new wife and new mother,
she was a little weak in home economics.
Jerry was Katherine's sarcastic male secretary, Cassie
and Bill owned the large Victorian house into which
the Papadapolises moved in the fall of 1984, and
Phillip was Webster's uncle.
After ABC canceled Webster in 1987, the series
went into first-run syndication.
