When Detective James Ellison discovers that he has
developed heightened senses that allow him to hear,
taste, see, feel and smell things that most people can't,
he thinks he's losing his mind. Luckily, he meets
anthropologist Blair Sandburg, whose studies of sentinels
in ancient tribal cultures gives him a unique perspective
on Jim's abilities. Together, they learn how to control
Jim's senses while solving crimes for the Cascade,
Washington police department. Jim's captain, Simon Banks
is also in on the secret, and allows Blair to become a
consultant to the department in order to help Jim.
