Hank is a rising star in the New York City medical community,
until he loses everything fighting for the life of a patient.

Hank is a handsome, smart, talented and innovative doctor in his mid-30s who thinks fast
on his feet, solving even the most unexpected problems like a "Medical MacGyver."
Grounded and calm under pressure, Hank stands up for what he believes no matter the consequence.

It's because of his convictions that he finds himself without a job and without prospects;
Hank opts to save a neighborhood teen instead of attending to the less urgent needs of a
powerful hospital patron, who ends up dying while Hank's attentions are on the boy.
Hank gets fired, blackballed from every hospital in town,
and dumped by his fiancée, Nikki, who resents Hank for his decision.

With his career stalled and his personal life in shambles, Hank is in need of a new beginning.
That's where his younger brother Evan steps in. Fed up with Hank's personal pity-party,
he convinces Hank to join him on a last-minute trip to the Hamptons for Memorial Day weekend.
When the brothers crash a party at the home of a Hamptons billionaire and a guest falls
critically ill, Hank saves the day. His dramatic medical rescue draws attention from the crowd,
and soon Hank's phone starts ringing off the hook with patients demanding house calls.

Inadvertently, Hank has become the hot new "concierge doctor" in town.

Though Hank is initially reluctant to embrace this new career, with encouragement from Evan
and an ambitious young woman who volunteers to be his physician assistant he decides to stay
in town for the summer. Once again solving medical crises and helping those in need,
Hank is back to doing what he does best. And now he's reinvented himself as
the Hamptons' hottest new doctor-in-demand.

But no matter how difficult it sometimes makes his life, Hank can't help that he's a passionate,
independent-thinking straight-shooter who never hesitates to tell it like it is, no matter how
rich or powerful someone may be. Which is why as Hank's practice grows, he will find himself
being continually challenged with finding the right balance between doing good and doing well.

Evan is Hank's younger brother, an accountant who loves a good time and can talk his way
into (almost) anything. Since he dreams of living more lavishly than his means will allow,
his motto is "Fake it until you make it." He's a ladies man who doesn't really get the ladies,
at least not without pretending to be somebody he's not.

Despite his wild side, Evan is a savvy businessman who sees the business potential in Hank
becoming a concierge doctor, and he soon sets up Hank's new practice,
HankMed -- installing himself as CFO, of course.

Divya Katdare is a practical, efficient, and ambitious woman in her 20s who would rather be
Hank's physician assistant than do what her family thinks is appropriate for a young woman
of her socio-economic status: attend polo matches and plan charity events.

Jill Casey is the beautiful administrator at the local Hamptons hospital. Down-to-earth but
remarkably savvy, and completely unimpressed by the rich summer residents and the superficial
lives they lead, Jill knows how to maneuver around local bureaucracies to get her job done.
As principled as Hank, she respects him and his decision to
save the life of a teen rather than the hospital patron.

The estranged father of Hank and Evan, Eddie has recently turned up in the Hamptons,
claiming that he's there to set things right with his sons. While Evan welcomes the return
of his charmingly roguish, though somewhat unreliable father, Hank has a little more
difficulty letting bygones be bygones; after all, this is a man who blew all the family's
money, walked out on the boys and their dying mother, then twenty years later
disappeared with their HankMed money. With that track record,
it's little wonder Hank still questions his father's motives.

Boris Kuester von Jurgens-Ratenicz, a fantastically rich German duke with an unpronounceable
last name and a lavish estate, is one of the Hamptons' most elite – and mysterious – residents.
He also happens to be Hank's landlord. But Boris's luxurious guesthouse, now the Hamptons
home of Hank and Evan, comes with some strings attached: as Boris's personal physician,
Hank is at the beck and call of the enigmatic millionaire. And Hank's got his work cut out
for him, because when it comes to finding a cure for his deadly hereditary disease - and
keeping his illness a secret – this ultra-private German aristocrat will stop at nothing.

A socialite with a penchant for plastic surgery, Ms. Newberg - often referred to by fellow
Hamptonites as "New Parts Newberg" - is filthy rich, well connected, and accustomed to getting
what she wants. Ever since Hank saved her from an embarrassing implant malfunction,
Ms. Newberg has been one of HankMed's most loyal, if somewhat eccentric, clients.
But when Eddie R. Lawson arrives in town and begins romancing Ms. Newberg, Hank can't
help but worry that Ms. Newberg is headed for heartbreak – and that the cozy
Newberg-HankMed relationship may be about to come to an end.
