An encounter with an angel leads an honest, hardworking
family man to gather up his clan and set out cross-country
in search of the American Dream. And what a struggle and
a great adventure that turns out to be! Russell and family
meet fascinating people on their pilgrimage and get an
opportunity to learn a lot, gain and dispense a little
wisdom, and change life for the better for
those they meet along the way.

Gerald McRaney portrays Russell Greene, a benevolent
patriarch who must lead his family on an adventure that
challenges each of them to bond as a family, find a
new home and reclaim the meaning of the American Dream.
In 1999 he became the recipient of the International Gold
Angel-Lifetime Achievement Award while "Promised Land"
won a Gold Angel for Best Drama Series.
