Meet Corliss Archer had been on CBS radio since 1943 and was still being aired in the
early 1950s when the television version was added in 1951. It was the story of a
typical high school girl, her boyfrined, Dexter, and her parents.

The stories revolved around the energetic and vivacious Corliss as she made the
transition from little girl to young woman. Fred Shields, who played Mr. Archer
for most of the radio run, re-created his role for the new medium,
as did Irene Tedrow as Mrs. Archer in part of the television run.

The 1951-1952 run of the series was aired live on CBS from Los Angeles.
The 1954-1955 run was a filmed syndicated version of the series.
