As host and executive producer of the late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live
for the ABC Television Network, Jimmy Kimmel is a busy man. Unlike most talk shows,
Jimmy Kimmel Live features Jimmy's family -- including his cousin Sal,
Uncle Frank, his parents and Aunt Chippy. His childhood best friend, Cleto Escobedo,
serves as bandleader, alongside his dad, Cleto Escobedo, Sr., on saxophone.
Jimmy Kimmel Live airs weeknights at 12:05 a.m.

The hour-long program premiered after Super Bowl XXXVII on January 26, 2003 on ABC.
As the name suggests, the program originally aired live in the Eastern Time Zone.
Due to increasing concerns about FCC fines for indecency, the show began its current
practice of taping an hour before it is aired.

The show features a diverse line up of guests, including celebrities, athletes, comedians
and human interest subjects. Along with a light-hearted and recognizable cast of characters,
a hip house band and comedy bits in Kimmel's inimitable style, the show additionally offers
one of the funniest, freshest monologues on television today.

Kimmel applies his irreverent wit to politics, television, the media, the FCC, popular
culture - everything is a target. A weekly comedy segment called "Unneccesary Censorship"
pokes fun at the FCC's crackdown on the media by unnecessarily censoring clips from TV news,
political speeches, reality TV, nature shows. Other regular comedy segments include Cousin
Sal's hidden camera pranks, number one Michael Jackson fan Jake Byrd's "man on the street,"
feisty Aunt Chippy on location, Guillermo's Hollywood Gossip Round-up and adorably
clueless Uncle Frank's coverage of red-carpet premieres.

The show's house band is Cleto and the Cletones, led by saxaphonist Cleto Escobedo III.
The other members in the band are Cleto Escobedo III's father, Cleto Escobedo Jr.
(tenor and alto saxaphone), Jeff Babo (keyboardist), Japanese guitarist Toshi Yanagi,
Jimmy Earl (bassist), and drummer Jonathan Dresel. Cleto and the Cletones play the show's
opening and closing themes and plays into and out of commercial breaks.
The show's opening theme was written and sung by Robert Goulet.
The show originates from Disney's El Capitan Entertainment Center, located on Hollywood
Boulevard in the heart of Hollywood's Walk of Fame. This famed location is featured
prominently in the show as Kimmel showcases the unique character of Hollywood.
