Chronicling the lives and loves of four African-American
women in Los Angeles, Girlfriends focuses on the strong bonds of

century. Like millions of women the world over, they are "sisters,"
drawn together by a bond stronger than blood -- arguing,
challenging and loving one another as only girlfriends can.
